“Allow me to share my story of house hunting in Cold Lake with Maciek Juszczyk. My young family and I were posted to Cold Lake. Knowing I needed a realtor for a house hunting trip, I asked friends and coworkers if they recommended anyone in Cold Lake. Several people recommended the Juszczyk’s. (His wife is also a realtor in Cold Lake.) Our first concern with Maciek was that his wife was the agent for the property we were primarily interested in, and if that would create a conflict of interest. Before meeting or speaking to Maciek on the phone, he thoroughly explained to us over email the systems in place to protect home buyers from such conflicts. In a place like Cold Lake, it’s extremely common for different agents of the same company to represent both the buyer and seller. Maciek patiently walked my wife and I through the process that would protect both buyer and seller in the event such a scenario came to pass. Have you ever tried house hunting with a toddler? Of course not. What crazies would even consider doing that? Well, we did! House hunting can be a challenge under ideal circumstances, but doing it with a one and a half year old makes it interesting, to say the least. Not only was Maciek understanding of us bringing our little one with us, he was extremely accommodating with us in his schedule as our little one needed a nap in the middle of every day. When the time came to draw up the contracts and sign everything, Maciek brought colouring sheets, crayons, ping pong balls, and numerous other toys to help us keep our toddler entertained. Towards the end he even pulled out his phone and started playing Paw Patrol on Netflix for our son. Maciek is a family man through and through, and as a father to a young child I appreciated and valued this immensely. In summary, I would like to acknowledge Macieks professionalism and character. House hunting in a foreign land where you can count the number of people you know on two hands can be an intimidating process. Maciek went out of his way to make the experience as painless as possible. He provided sound advice multiple times that my partner and I had not considered, and over the brief time I worked with him I grew to trust and respect him greatly.
